The History of Colman Electric, Inc.<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Colman Electric was founded in the fall of 1976 by Kevin Colman. He setup a small electrician office in Beacon Hill on 46 Charles Street in Boston. In September he went out on his first call to the home of Ms. Anna Snow of Boston to repair the lighting in her home and Colman Electric, Inc. was born. The business grew over the years with a loyal following of customers seeking quality electrical work at their homes and offices as well as custom lighting services and chandelier repairs. Eventually Kevin Colman\u2019s daughter, Nancy, began to greet customers and run the front office while the team went out on calls. As the business took on more projects and more employees, it eventually outgrew the Beacon Hill site and the company moved to 351 Cambridge Street (on the border of Cambridge and Boston\u2019s West End near Lechmere Station). Nancy and her husband John continue to welcome visitors to the Colman Electric repair shop over the years, many who would stop in to see the adopted \u201cShop cat\u201d who sat in the office window, greeting those who passed by and welcoming them inside to visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
